Sundance Film Festival 2011 Catalog, 280 pages. "Be There"
The 2011 Sundance Film Festival played host to a talented new crop of young actors, a record 78 film sales, and an all-new Documentary Premieres category, showcasing the work of established masters of the craft. Twenty-five first-time filmmakers comprised the Dramatic and Documentary Competitions, a line-up which included award-winners "Like Crazy", "Martha Marcy May Marlene", "Being Elmo", and "How to Die in Oregon". Directors Drake Doremus and Sean Durkin and actresses Elizabeth Olsen, Felicity Jones, and Brit Marling together formed the face of the 2011 Festival and led yet another class of burgeoning independent artists. An eclectic Off-Screen program included moderated panels, roundtable discussions, and musical performances featuring such diverse talents as Michael Moore, Vera Farmiga, Norman Lear, Harry Belafonte and The Chapin Sisters, among many others.
