Sundance Film Festival 1990 Poster. The festival was still officially called the Sundance United States Film Festival in 1990. 25" wide by 31 1/2" tall.

The 1990 Sundance Film Festival featured a special tribute to the director Richard Lester (A HARD DAY'S NIGHT, HOW I WON THE WAR, ROBIN AND MARIAN), a tribute to the first black filmmaker to create a body of work in modern Hollywood, Melvin Van Peebles (THE STORY OF A THREE-DAY PASS, WATERMELON MAN, SWEET SWEETBACK'S BAADASSSSSS SONG), a special section of Colombian Cinema, a special section of films from Kazakhstan, as well as a series of films from recently deceased men reflecting a range of concerns: Director Sergio Leone, Director/Producer David Loxton, Screenwriter Waldo Salt and Journalist I.F. Stone. Films that achieved recognition following their premieres at the 1990 Sundance Film Festival included: HOLLYWOOD MAVERICKS, SWEETIE, ROGER AND ME, LONGTIME COMPANION, METROPOLITAN and TO SLEEP WITH ANGER.
